The District Classification enables an England-wide perspective on rural_urban similarities and differences at the local authority level. The 'District Analysis' tool currently presents analyses of 2001 census data using the district classification.
Using the three 'drop down' boxes in sequence:
1. identify the area required (e.g. the North East)
2. identify the variable group required (e.g. Education)
3. identify the variable required (e.g. Skill Level 1)
Activate the 'Query' button. A table appears giving the number of districts, the minimum, maximum, mean, median and standard deviation values for the area selected. Note, some variables are absolute numbers, others are percentages.
Scroll down the page to see the results presented as a simplified 'box plot' diagram summarizing all the data for the selected area and its local authority classification.
